There are many great places to visit in the immediate vicinity of Saint Jean d’Aulps:
Les Lindarets ("the goat village") is a traditional mountain village - unique in that a herd of 40 freindly goats wander freely through the streets enjoying the attention of the many visitors. The village offers numerous restaurants, souvenir shops and beautiful picnic spots on the river. An afternoon out here is something that families can't fail to enjoy.
Lac Montriond is a beautiful spot: a magnificent lake surrounded by imposing cliffs on one side and spectacular views on the other. There is a safe, supervised swimming area and fishing, kayaking, walking and pony trekking can also be enjoyed.
The "pont du diable" gorges are a spectacular array of gorges carved out of the limestone rocks by the river Dranse. Open 9:30 to 18:00 from May to September.
The historic "Abbaye d'Aulps" in the centre of St Jean d'Aulps is open during July & August from 10:00 to 19:00.
